BBC = filthy propaganda merchants (again, apparently)
The wording's interesting - "there is a widespread perception that the BBC suffers from certain forms of cultural and unintentional bias".
The report into the BBC's so-called bias will no doubt be much appreciated in some quarters, but all it's actually saying is that some people perceive the corporation to be biased in favour of the EU. As I discovered earlier today, people's perceptions can be severely flawed if they've already got set opinions and agendas.
If you're pro-EU, you'll probably have little to complain about beyond the lack of coverage by the BBC; if you're anti-EU, every mention of what's going on in Brussels that isn't critical can be interpreted as slavish support. If you have no opinion one way or the other, you'll probably not particularly care.
Anyway, Toby's already done a better summing-up job than I can manage. Might return to this at some point though...
Update: EU Realist has a round-up of reactions to the report.

Irish Dude again...i think the bottem link of article is buggered.
Ta for the heads-up. That seems to happen a lot with Straight Banana - no idea why. The post in question was put up on 13th January - well worth a read. It's currently still on the front page of the blog, though - here, and scroll down a bit - assuming the link works...
Probably just to suit everyone you could say that the BBC is radically socialist/conservative/liberal bias + anything else
usually when you get criticised like that it means you are neutral, so they must be doing something right

Who do you vote for? I (would if i was english) go labour simply because they seem as eager as me to form a European superstate, maybe im alone in my extremism? Just tryin to judge the writers level of "commitment" :-) To be quite frank every moderate in Northern Ireland has an identity crisis on some level and a distinct HATE of Patriots in any way shape or form, to me the EU gives an escape to all the violence that patriots have caused in this shithole (no-one else may call it such). On a final note i will happily purchase an G36k (german rifle) off the local IRA unit and eliminate Mr Silk if it looks at all like his new party is doing well at the polls, nothing will stop the revolution.
I don't vote for any party - I always base my vote on a combination of the individual candidate's views and their party's line on specific policy areas. I was brought up a staunchly Eurosceptic Tory. But since 1997 I've voted (going by party) Conservative, Green, Independent, Lib Dem, Labour, and even UKIP (yes, really...)
This coming election I have yet to decide - largely because I don't yet know who the other candidates are going to be in my constituency, and because hardly any of the parties have finalised their manifestos yet. I do seem to agree with my current MP's stance on most things these days, though... She may yet get my vote.
(Oh, and for the record I am not much of a fan of the idea of a European superstate - at least for another couple of hundred years. I just don't think anyone's ready for it yet, least of all the EU itself...)
By the way, Alan - my thoughts exactly. The fact that pretty much every party has complained about the BBC being biased against them at one stage or another says to me that they're doing their job brilliantly.
